Arrcus named Leader and Outperformer in all three GigaOm Radar Reports for Network Operating Systems

May 2023 by Marc Jacob

Arrcus, the hyperscale networking software company and a leader in core, edge and multi-cloud network infrastructure, announced it has been recognized as a leader and outperformer in the latest GigaOm Radar Reports for Network Operating Systems, across multiple customer segments including Cloud, Managed and Network Service Providers as well as Large Enterprises. The reports evaluate vendors’ network operating systems (NOS) based on their ability to provide innovative and disaggregated solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers in data center, wide area network, metro cloud and edge cloud deployment use cases.

The Arrcus ArcOS NOS was recognized as a leader and outperformer for comprehensive evaluation criteria that includes innovation, vision, flexibility and total cost of ownership. This report evaluated a range of deployment models across data center, wide area networks, metro cloud and edge cloud. Arrcus was rated exceptional for outstanding focus and execution across all deployment models. ArcOS is an integral part of the Arrcus Connected Edge (ACE) platform, which is designed to deliver a comprehensive, high-performance network infrastructure solution for edge-to-multicloud connectivity. With ArcOS at its core, the ACE platform provides organizations with a software-driven approach to 5G networking that is highly flexible, scalable and reliable, enabling them to build and operate the networks of the future. The GigaOm recognition combined with Arrcus’ growing customer base and recent successful series D funding round solidifies the company’s accelerated momentum as an established 5G networking solution and disruptor to legacy industry incumbents.

GigaOm’s report cites Arrcus’ microservices-based software architecture and ability to scale to the maximum capacity in terms of ACLs, routes, tunnels and VxLAN that a given ASIC can support. ArcOS offers a simple single architecture with pay-as-you-grow operations, making it easier for customers to scale up their networks. One of Arrcus’ success factors has been its ability to get through the qualification process and to market with new merchant silicon faster than its competitors, including incumbent switch vendors.

"Our research underscores the innovation of Arrcus ArcOS and its ability to deliver the flexibility, scalability and performance that organizations require to meet the demands of modern applications and services," said Ivan McPhee, senior industry analyst at GigaOm. "ArcOS’ programmable, cloud-native and microservices-based software architecture, combined with its ability to deliver a unified architecture for multiple use cases from core to multi-cloud, secures Arrcus’ position in the leader’s circle for delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers."
